Getting Ready for the New School Year

This blog is for the parents of Wilkes-Barre Area School District. School is just days from starting. I truly hope that everyone is ready to send your children back to school. Our school district has a dress code, so if you are new to the area check out the website for the school at www.wbasd.k12.pa.us . School starts Monday August 29, 2016. Our first day closed after the beginning is Friday, September 2, 2016 and resumes Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in observance of Labor Day.

I also want to note that if you go to Walmart in Wilkes-Barre or Pittston you will find a list for every grade of important supplies your child will need for the school year. You can also locate uniforms. Another place to find cute girl uniform clothes would be Kohl's.

If you are a parent like me and are homeschooling your children this year, you might want to set up a photo shoot for the school year book. Contact the guidance councilor for complete details. Just because your child isn't at the school doesn't mean that they shouldn't be in the school year book. It is something special for your child to look forward to at the end of the school year.
